Love, oh love, I gotta tell you how I feel about you..

(picture www.bild.de)

Time for a bit of patriotism here, Im well proud Germany managed to win the Eurovision contest this year :) Its not like we've ever been close to one of the good position all the past years..
I know, I know, the accent is messed up but I really do like the song!
And I definately like the lipstick she was wearing tonight ;)
...and i must admit.. I did it again...
Ebay, £1.49, what was i supposed to do!
Rimmel, Moisture Renew, Burgundy Delight 420.
Such a nice colour! Ive wanted a dark red lip stick for a while and Lena reminded me of this again today.

Also..

I need to stop playing with the Mac Photobooth.
Its so lame but fun at the same time ahaha

Uhh and my tunnel is back! Ive missed it <3

Ebay

Just put some things on ebay maybe have a look:

http://shop.ebay.co.uk/synthetic_sister/m.html?_nkw=&_armrs=1&_from=&_ipg=&_trksid=p3686

I keep buying too many things on there atm (in my defence, its stuff that I need!) and I started feeling bad and looked through my wardrobe, trying to find thing I would actually be able to part with..
Couldnt find a lot but aw well I might just give it a go ;)

About a thousand beads later...

Maybe not a thousand... but there will be around 500-600 on there even though it doesnt look that much. But it wasnt too bad I was watching Supernatural to keep me entertained while beading ;)
In this light and especially on the mannequin it looks a bit shit at the moment, Ill need to get it on an actual model soon.
Still thinking about whether to make it longer and extend the bottom bit or just leave it as a neckpiece?

Updateeee

Still looking a bit rough but Im getting there:

First crystals are on theeeeereeee!#

Things Ive learned today:

- Never superglue crystals without wearing gloves or using tweezers
- The things youre looking for are always right in front of you
- Dont leave your pinbox right next to your sewing machine if you dont want them to spread all over the floor
- carpet floor + pins = oouchhhh

:(

Uh, this is Houston. Say again, please?

Well we had a problem, hopefully. After my sewing machine broke yesterday I was torn between feeling upset, angry and suicidal. I managed to get it to work again today and Im praying to god that it wont fuck up again anytime soon.
I know, I know I shouldnt be doing a million things at once but Im so excited about having some free time now that I cant decide what to do first.

I started another, well lets call it neckpiece, and toiled it in the most horrible fabric that I have, simply cause I ran out of calico and dont have the money and time to go get some more.
At least I found a use for this horrible camouflage cotton...

Next step: leather!

Tbf, its only fake leather but most of it is gonna be hidden anyway so its not gonna make a lot of difference. The surface will be covered different black chiffons and BEADS! :)

And crystals.
Im still waiting for my beads to arrive though, but I already got some of the crystals:

Some nice black ones aaaaaaand:

I treated myself to some Swarovski Crystals :) Theyre really not that expensive, only in comparison to plain ones. £1.30 for 30 isnt bad, its not like Im going to cover a whole garment in them.

So yeah, leather + crystals + beads + this:

Lets see how it goes ;)

And at this point I would like to personally welcome my favorite stalker:

HI STEPH!

...

:D

Oh libertad! Divina libertad!

My last project is handed in and im finally free for the summer now! Just feel like such a big relief and Ive got enough time to start sewing again. I remember there being so many things on my list but i started with the easiest ones today.
Since Im usually sat on my bed when im working and Im spreading out my things everywhere leaving lots of little bits of rubbish, paper, rubber etc I thought it might be a good idea to make a blanket thats going on top to stop my bed from going all skanky. The usual black hole in my purse didnt help so I thought why not become a little amish and try make up a quilt out of shitty bits of fabric that I got flying around.
To be fair, the amish would probably lapidate me for my version of patchwork quilts but I dont really care, Im a bit proud of my first little squares ;)
I decided to not go for a pattern or anything too complicated. Lets be honest, the usual messy look goes quite well with my room anyway.
And i can finally justify keeping every inch of fabrics that I buy, I cant even throw away the small pieces that are left over after cutting out.

I figured out that for making a blanket thats covering my whole bed Id have to sew together around 625 pieces. Today, I managed to get about 60 done.. Fuck my life.

Is this really gonna happen? Well Ive got 5 months to go.. Should be enough time to cut out another 565 squares, sew them and iron them..

Wish me luck, hope Ill get through it without going loopy.

Lotta xx

Meine Motivation rennt nackig mit 'nem Cocktail über die Wiese

SHOWstudio: Fashion Revolution 2009 @ Somerset House

More random pictures Ive just found.. My motivation is somewhere between 0 and -20, I so cannot wait for this project (well, and this uni term) to end! I hate hate hate hate hate hate hate hate this Maria Grachvogel project, her collections are so dull and uninspiring i just dont wanna do it! Whatever I feel like I could do with my sources of inpiration, theres always this big "BE MINIMALISTIC" sign at the back of my head.
Got about a million things on my mind that i wanna sew but I never seem to have the time anymore, so I guess these 5 months off will give me a bit of space for it ;)
Gives me something to do over the summer as well, Id go insane without anything to do. The first week of June Im probably gonna be helping at Graduate Fashion week (http://www.gfw.org.uk/home.aspx) and Id say come see my Unis show but Ive just noticed that Ravensbournes show it already sold out (first one of all the unis on the timtable as well, im impressed hah!). But there are definately some good people this year, I saw most of the collection and was modelling for some of them for the Showstudio selection (im definately feeling sorry for the girls who have to wear the knitwear collections, i was boiling!! and they have to put up with all the lighting as well on the catwalk, good luck ^_^).

xx

Allllright....

Just realised how rubbish I am at posting pictures, theyre all really wonky and in a weird order :S
SORRY! x

Buttoned Down Disco!

Some pictures from Abis birthday last weekend, had a little party at ours and then went to Kokos in Camden (Buttoned Down Disco that evening!). Was definately WAYY too crowded but we met some random people. Hah bless the sweet french girl who was trying to speak in german to me, she was actually quite good!
And she definately wasnt as creepy as the guy on the nightbus, who was following us all the way to Chislehurst, just to stand round there staring at us getting a taxi home :S

Anywayyy, I thought Id share ;) Loved the massive balloons that were getting thrown all over the main room!

nom nom.

Yeh, Steph and Beth taking the piss.. They were trying to imitate the pout that I always do :(
I cant help ittttt!!

Ballooooooooons!!

Me and Kat and the birthday girl :)
